Sounds of London

London is Europe’s undisputed music capital. In the West End, London’s famous theatre district, music lovers will find more than a dozen theatres. A must for every visitor. But it is not only in the centre of London that music plays a central role. Somewhat outside the city centre visitors experience an unforgettable sparkling display of pop in the ABBA Arena.

A musical highlight with no equal: ‘The Lion King’. The Disney musical has been playing to full houses in London for 25 years. It’s lost nothing of its charm. ‘The Lion King’ explodes before a backdrop of magnificent colour, breath-taking effects and gripping music.

The powerful story of Simba on his way from young lion to King of the Pride Lands thrills every generation anew. In its 25th year at the London Lyceum Theatre, visionary director Julie Taymor has redefined theatrical expectations with her acclaimed reinterpretation of the popular Disney film. thelionking.co.uk

ABBA Voyage: one of the most successful pop groups of all time is back on stage with revolutionary new concerts in the purpose-built ABBA Arena in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Thanks to cutting-edge motion capture techniques, audiences have been able since May 2022 to follow the band members on a voyage in time back to 1979. Their avatars, or, to put it better, Abbatars are virtual young versions of Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus.

The atmosphere is amazing. By the time ‘Dancing Queen’ is performed, if not before, everyone is on their feet, be they 17 or 77. ABBA VOYAGE unites young and no longer quite so young fans. The ABBA magic doesn’t recognise age. abbavoyage.com
