Suites with underwater views
The Poseidon and Neptune suites at the Hotel Atlantis, The Palm Dubai are not on the water, they are under water. The view from room-high windows of the reconstructed ruins of the legendary sunken city with around 65,000 sea dwellers is breath taking. Photo: Paul Thuysbaert
Tonnes of snow in Dubai
White splendour in the desert State: up to 25 tonnes of snow fall each night in the 85-meter-high Ski Dubai hall, covering an area of 3000 square metres and making it the world’s largest indoor snow park. Up to 1500 visitors can enjoy themselves in the 85 metre-high hall on 22,500 square metres of snow – the equivalent of about three football fields. Cool entertainment in the form of snow – boarding, skiing or sledding at 1C°, while outside the sun beats down at 40 C°. Even a skiing holiday is possible: The luxurious Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates offers Ski chalets with views of the slopes. Photo: Ski Dubai
